Bosque River Taphouse and Maverick Brewing Company share one home and one mission: bring Stephenville a craft beer and dining experience built on quality, creativity, and community. What started as a small family-owned project with big dreams has grown into a full-scale taphouse where great beer and great food come together.

Water chemistry, grain selection, hop profiles, fermentation behavior — every element is studied, tested, and perfected. At the Bosque River Taphouse, our kitchen is guided by Executive Chef John Wayne Shaw, whose experience and steady hand bring a sense of comfort to everything we serve. It’s uncommon for a small-town brewpub to have an executive chef, and his presence allows us to create food that feels familiar while still offering something a little unexpected.

One of our signature items, the award-winning Bosque River Burger - made with a house-crafted brisket patty - reflects the heart of our kitchen: comforting, well-made, and full of character without being complicated.
